Lena Loves: The toy box

Lena is a very lucky girl. For her first birthday she was given the most amazing present from her Great-Grandmother. A toy box that will be with her for the whole of her life.

When I watch her grab toys out of it I can't help but imagine her using it as a blanket box at University, or even as a toy box for her own children.

It is made from solid oak with beautiful hand carved lettering on the front outer and a message on the inside of the lid. With 'Hold Anywhere Hinges' I feel safe when Lena has almost her whole body leaning inside on the hunt for the play thing of the moment.

I am obsessed. There is nothing more I like than trawling Pinterest for ingenious Ikea hacks. Yes there are marvellous things to be done using a power tool. But look at what you can do with just a splash of colour.

Wall Sticker Love

I'm not brave enough for wallpaper

After years of renting the thought of wallpapering is very new to me. Now we have our own little nest to decorate it feels so permanent somehow. And with my fickle interior desires flitting from Modern Retro, Scandi Eclectic, Polka Dot Madness, Minimalist Startle Your Eyes with White and Country Cottage Everything Is From Laura Ashley, I have to admit, I am not brave enough to paper my walls. Which is why I am so grateful for wall stickers. They add a touch of flair without the need for a tressle table and paste, or a RIBBA frame from Ikea.
